GUTMAG, is a one-day, collaborative art magazine founded by Sullivan Sweet and assembled by twenty-five artists. Conceived as both a publication and a live event, the project transformed an empty room into a temporary editorial studio. Blank spreads were taped to foam boards and arranged around the space, alongside stations stocked with materials. Over the course of the day, participants generated writing, collage, sculpture, drawing, and photography, adding freely to the pages and often building on one another’s contributions. Pages shifted hands throughout the day, producing a layered and unpredictable conversation across mediums.
The finished work was documented through photographs of the spreads, then printed on uncoated paper stock to preserve the tactile qualities of the original materials. The first issue of GUTMAG is a singer-sewn, 7.5 × 10 inch booklet produced by hand in an edition of 100 copies.
